An electronic service available on the Balady platform, allowing beneficiaries to submit a request for the transport and preparation of the deceased to the Mortuary Services Department (Honoring the Deceased Department). The cemetery is reserved, and the authority arranges the transport and preparation of the body at a specified date and time for the funeral prayer without the need to visit the authority.
2. Select the service “Request for Transport and Preparation of the Deceased”.
3. Log in via the National Unified Access or through the Balady account.
4. Enter the deceased’s details, place of death, burial site, and select the cemetery and transport service provider.
5. The request is submitted to the Mortuary Services Department (Honoring the Deceased Department), which assigns an entity to handle the transport and preparation.
Can charities and service centers handle transport and preparation for all death cases?
Currently, charities and service centers are allowed to transport deceased persons only from hospitals. Other cases, such as home deaths, accidents, or judicial executions, are handled by the Mortuary Services Department (Honoring the Deceased Department).
Is approval from the Emirate of Medina required to bury a deceased person in Al-Baqi Cemetery if the death occurred outside Medina?
Yes, approval from the Emirate is required. The deceased's family must apply through the
Emirate’s website, and an automated verification system between the Emirate and Balady platform ensures approval without the need for manual documentation.
