The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing is based in its various works and activities on two basic principles represented in sustainable development and environmental preservation, as it seeks to achieve sustainability in its comprehensive sense in all its electronic services and the internal transactions and procedures it implements so that all its procedures are re-engineered in a way that allows continuous renewal and the possibility of expansion, modernization and association with any other government agencies related to these procedures, and in the same regard, it does not turn a blind eye to the preservation of the environment through more of a means. Sustainable Development:

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing works to implement sustainable development in its comprehensive concept, relying on well-studied action plans through which it can benefit from all the resources available to it without prejudice to the right of future generations to these resources. In this regard, the Ministry takes into account the economic, social and humanitarian dimensions of all actions carried out.

The key elements of sustainability in the Ministry's work are:

Social aspect

Work to activate the municipal and housing sector in a way that contributes to eliminating the problem of unemployment and providing job opportunities, in addition to focusing on the role of women in society by facilitating procedures for women's entry into private sector work and opening many areas for them to participate in the development of society.

Economic aspect

Developing the Ministry's business and providing its services in an easy and easy electronic manner that supports economic development, and saves time and effort for the beneficiaries of the Ministry's services to reflect positively on all their economic activities and businesses. The Ministry also takes into account, when launching any electronic service, that this service is flexible for the possibility of developing it in the future in the event of new requirements, in addition to the possibility of linking with any other government agencies if necessary to benefit from this service and its integration with any other government services.

Environmental aspect

Preserving the environment by relying on technology in the implementation of internal transactions and providing services electronically, which means paperless electronic services that are provided to the beneficiary wherever he is without the need to visit the ministry or any of its offices, which reflects positively on the environment by reducing the use of vehicles and reducing pollution rates.

Perhaps the Ministry's adoption of the concept of sustainable development has relied on a number of measures, including the following:

  • Decision-making based on in-depth development participation, analysis and study. - Balance between needs and available resources (e.g. targets and budgets).
  • Participation in opinion and activating the role of the community (sharing opinions and suggestions of the public for business development).
  • Objective and phased evaluation of all work. - Develop detailed and comprehensive action plans with alternative solutions, precautionary measures and applicable targets.
  • Develop easy-to-measure indicators to follow up the implementation of work continuously and periodically. - Raising public awareness about the work carried out by the Ministry so that public participation is positive.
