The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has given early attention to making data available to beneficiaries, recognizing the role of data in promoting knowledge and supporting decision-making. The Ministry began in 2009 by creating a statistics page that included a time series of several datasets related to municipal sector activities and services.

With the acceleration of digital transformation and the diversification of data produced by the Ministry and recognizing the importance of open data and its economic, social, and developmental role, the open data page was developed on the Ministry's official website and other platforms to provide datasets in different formats in line with relevant decisions.

Impact Resulting from Making Open Data Available:

  • Maximizing the benefit of data by making it available to beneficiaries in different formats that are processable and analyzable.
  • Raising awareness of the municipal sector's efforts in improving the services provided.
  • Promoting beneficiary satisfaction by providing services faster and according to a specific and regular publication schedule.

Steps to Request Open Data from the Ministry:

  • Log into the Balady platform
  • Go to the About Balady section
  • Go to Data Request
  • Fill out and submit the form
  • Receive a confirmation message of request receipt
  • Which is then referred to the concerned administration for review. The applicant will be notified of the result within five working days

Open data requests can be tracked through the contact us page.

Consultations for the Ministry can be viewed through the Tafaul platform.

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing provides open data to all its visitors in support of transparency and to promote digital engagement through the open data platform in multiple formats that facilitate its processing and reuse.
